Pleasure Craft Operator Card
Have you got your Pleasure Craft Operator Card yet?
Everyone must now have a Pleasure Craft Operator Card in order to operate a boat or personal watercraft. The ten year phase-in period is now over and penalties and fines are being laid for those who are not in compliance.
Get your Pleasure Craft Operator card through B.O.A.T.
(Boat Operator Accredited Training) – a Lifesaving Society Program accredited by Transport Canada. As an affiliate of the MMF and the Lifesaving Society Program, this training is being offered through the Louis Riel Institute. Take the course from an experienced instructor. With successful completion of the exam right after the study course, you will immediately receive your “Pleasure Craft Operator Card.”
Pre-registration with payment is required prior to the course start date. Study guides will be available from the Louis Riel Institute or on the course date before class for $13. Ages 8 and up are welcome.
The course consists of 6 hours of training over two evenings followed by the exam. Experienced boaters are also welcome to purchase a study guide and challenge the exam on the second class date for a fee.
