Sharing the Heritage

On a monthly basis, a group of young fiddlers aged 10 to 16 visit seniors and shut-ins of St. Laurent to share with them the fun and excitement of their fiddling, jigging and dancing. The Residents of both the Laurentian Lodge and the St. Laurent Assisted Living Centre gather in a common area to tap their toes, clap their hands, and sometimes even start to dance. Dauphin Friendship Centre Youth Program

The Dauphin Friendship Centre is open to all youth from 6 to 24 years of age. The program offers youth the opportunity to take part in activities like hiking, camping and fishing and sports like skating, bowling, baseball, football, and swimming. Internship Program

The Aboriginal Youth Internship Program is open to all aboriginal students in grade 11 or 12 in the Winnipeg region. The program allows Aboriginal youth the opportunity to explore careers in the challenging Manitoba labour market. After successful completion of the work experience, students may be offered a full time summer employment. Youth Sports Funding

This program is offered to financially disadvantaged parents that are interested in registering their child in a sport or activity. The Northwest Metis Youth Recreation & Wellness Committee encourages you to apply for financial assistance.
