WINNIPEG-
It was announced during the 2010 Manitoba Metis Federation (MMF) Annual General Assembly that the Province of Manitoba would commit $10 million to the Metis Economic Development Fund (MEDF).

On Wednesday June 29, 2011 Aboriginal Affairs Minister Eric Robinson and the Chair of the MEDF Robert Penwarden will finalize the agreement at the MMF Home Office. The objective of the Fund is to promote economic development, skills-training and financial opportunities for the Metis people of Manitoba by providing capital funding to Metis-owned businesses.
