The Infinity Women Secretariat (IWS) is a non-profit organization that connects Red River Métis women, girls, 2sLGBTQ+ individuals throughout the Province of Manitoba and beyond, with a mandate to promote, empower, and enhance their well-being. Incorporated on April 23, 2013, IWS has become well known in our Red River Métis communities and remains a proud affiliate of the Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF), the National Government of the Red River Métis.

The IWS seeks to fill one full-time Senior Administrative Coordinator position located at 150 Henry Ave in Winnipeg, MB. Reporting to the IWS Spokeswoman, the Senior Administrative Coordinator will assist in overseeing, monitoring and coordinating the day-to-day administrative operations of the IWS, and will assist the Spokeswoman with scheduling meetings and travel arrangements.

Job Duties/Competencies:

  • Provide administrative support to the team and Spokeswoman;
  • Maintain meeting schedules and calendars for the Spokeswoman;
  • Photocopy and organize documents for distribution, mailing, filing, and faxing;
  • Prepare orders for office supplies and equipment as required;
  • Draft, type and proofread correspondence, statements, forms and other documents;
  • Complete travel requisitions and cheque requisitions as requested;
  • Draft briefing material as directed;
  • Schedule meetings and book facilities;
  • Prepare and maintain information kits for meetings;
  • Take, transcribe, and edit meeting minutes.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Relevant education in the field of Administrative Assistant or related field(s);
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in an Executive Assistant or high-level Administrative Assistant position, with experience working with senior leadership and tracking schedules and appointments;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook;
  • Minimum typing speed of 50 WPM;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information;
  • Ability to work with little to no supervision;
  • Experience with committees and/or boards, or having political acumen is an asset;
  • Knowledge of Red River Métis culture, IWS & MMF programs and services is an asset; and,
  • Ability to travel, valid Manitoba Driver's license with access to a reliable vehicle.
