An International Education Exchange Between The Red River Métis And Israel

May 2, 2023, Beersheba, Israel - The Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF), Vickar Automotive Group (Vickar Group) and Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU) have signed a DONOR PLEDGE AGREEMENT(DPA) to establish a partnership for research, education and culture exchange.

The DPA was signed on May 2, 2023, at the BGU campus in Beersheba, by MMF President David Chartrand, Larry Vickar of the Vickar Group, and BGU Vice-President Jeff Kaye.

The Partnership aims to promote cooperation and mutual understanding between the Red River Métis community and the academic community in Israel. The collaboration will focus on research in areas such as health, environment, and social issues, as well as educational and cultural programs. The partnership will also involve the sharing of resources and expertise.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, MMF President David Chartrand said, "This partnership between MMF, the Vickar Group and BGU is a significant step towards advancing research and education in areas of mutual interest. By working together, we can leverage our strengths and expertise to address some of the most pressing issues facing our communities today. We are excited about the legacy opportunities that this partnership will create for our students and researchers."

Vice-President Jeff Kaye echoed President Chartrand's sentiments, saying, "We are honoured to partner with the Manitoba Métis Federation and the Vickar Group and contribute to the advancement of research and education in Canada and Israel. This partnership reflects our commitment to building bridges across cultures and borders."

MMF Minister of Education Joan Ledoux added, "This partnership will provide opportunities for our Red River Métis students to engage in international academic exchanges and benefit from the knowledge and expertise of the Israeli academic community. We are excited about the potential for collaboration and innovation that this partnership represents."

Minister of Early Learning & Child Care Frances Chartrand also highlighted the importance of the partnership, stating, "This collaboration will provide opportunities for our community to learn from and share our knowledge with others, and to strengthen our relationships with other cultures and communities. We look forward to the positive impact this partnership will have on our community and the next generations of tomorrow."

The MMF also expressed its appreciation for the support of Larry Vickar, who shall be contributing his funds to the partnership. President Chartrand said, "We are grateful for Larry Vickar's support and commitment to the Métis community. His contribution will help to ensure the success of this partnership and the benefits it will bring to our community."

Larry Vickar expressed his support for the MMF and BGU, stated, "I am proud to support this partnership with the Manitoba Métis Federation and Ben-Gurion University. I believe that this collaboration will lead to new opportunities for innovation and learning, and I look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on both our communities."

The Donor Pledge Agreement will be effective immediately and will be in effect for five years, with the possibility of renewal.

Échange international en matière d'éducation entre les Métis de la rivière Rouge et Israël

Le 2 mai 2023, Beersheba (Israël) - La Fédération Métisse du Manitoba (FMM), Vickar Automotive Group (groupe Vickar) et l'Université Ben Gourion du Néguev (BGU) ont signé un accord de contributions afin d'établir un partenariat pour la recherche, l'éducation et l'échange culturel.

L'accord a été signé le 2 mai 2023 sur le campus de la BGU à Beersheba par David Chartrand, président de la FMM, Larry Vickar du groupe Vickar, et Jeff Kaye, vice-président de la BGU.

Le partenariat vise à promouvoir la coopération et la compréhension mutuelle entre la communauté métisse de la rivière Rouge et la communauté universitaire en Israël. La collaboration se concentrera sur la recherche dans des domaines comme la santé, l'environnement et les questions sociales, ainsi que sur des programmes éducatifs et culturels. Le partenariat portera aussi sur le partage de ressources et de compétences.

Lors de la cérémonie de signature, David Chartrand, président de la FMM, a déclaré : « Ce partenariat entre la FMM, le groupe Vickar et la BGU est une étape importante pour faire progresser la recherche et l'éducation dans des champs d'intérêt mutuel. En travaillant de concert, nous pouvons tirer parti de nos forces et de notre savoir-faire pour résoudre certains des problèmes les plus urgents auxquels nos communautés sont confrontées aujourd'hui. Nous nous réjouissons des possibilités de laisser un héritage que ce partenariat créera pour nos étudiantes et étudiants et pour nos chercheuses et chercheurs. »

Le vice-président Jeff Kaye a fait écho aux sentiments du président Chartrand : « Nous sommes honorés de nous associer à la Fédération Métisse du Manitoba et au groupe Vickar, et de contribuer à l'avancement de la recherche et de l'éducation au Canada et en Israël. Ce partenariat reflète notre engagement à jeter des ponts entre les cultures et les frontières. »

Joan Ledoux, ministre de l'Éducation de la FMM, a ajouté : « Ce partenariat permettra à nos étudiantes et nos étudiants métis de la rivière Rouge de participer à des échanges universitaires internationaux et de bénéficier des connaissances et du savoir-faire de la communauté universitaire israélienne. Nous sommes enthousiasmés par les possibilités de collaboration et d'innovation que représente ce partenariat. »

Frances Chartrand, ministre de l'Apprentissage et de la Garde des jeunes enfants, a également souligné l'importance de ce partenariat : « Cette collaboration permettra à notre communauté d'apprendre et de partager ses connaissances avec d'autres, et de renforcer nos relations avec d'autres cultures et d'autres communautés. Nous nous réjouissons des retombées positives que ce partenariat aura sur notre collectivité et sur les générations futures. »

La FMM a également remercié pour son soutien Larry Vickar, qui apportera ses fonds au partenariat. « Nous sommes reconnaissants à Larry Vickar pour son soutien et son engagement envers la communauté métisse », a fait savoir le président Chartrand. « Sa contribution permettra d'assurer le succès de ce partenariat ainsi que les avantages qu'il apportera à notre communauté. »

Larry Vickar a exprimé en ces termes son soutien à la FMM et à la BGU : « Je suis fier de soutenir ce partenariat avec la Fédération Métisse du Manitoba et l'Université Ben-Gourion. Je suis convaincu que cette collaboration ouvrira de nouvelles perspectives d'innovation et d'apprentissage, et j'ai hâte de voir les effets positifs qu'elle aura sur nos deux communautés. »

L'accord de contributions entre en vigueur immédiatement pour une durée de cinq ans, avec possibilité de renouvellement.
