The Third Covid-19 Immunization Announcement

Today, the National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) as well as Manitoba Health announced that the Red River Métis in Manitoba will be eligible for their booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

In response to this, effective immediately (November 3) the Manitoba Metis Federation will be booking appointments for Red River Métis individuals to receive their booster dose of COVID-19 (their 3^rd dose).

Most individuals are recommended to receive a booster dose of COVID-19 mRNA vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) six months after their last COVID-19 vaccine. Those with moderately to severely compromised immune systems are eligible for their booster dose once 28 days have passed from their previous dose.
