Métis Energy Efficiency Offers

Lower your energy bills and make your home more comfortable by getting free and subsidized energy efficiency upgrades. This program is designed to help Red River Métis homeowners and renters save on their energy bills by providing affordable energy efficiency upgrades for their home. If you're renting a home, we can work with your landlord to have energy efficiency upgrades completed in the house you're living in.

Working in partnership with Efficiency Manitoba, our team of dedicated professionals takes care of everything and manages the entire process. We identify eligible improvements, connect you with registered contractors, and take care of the payment, helping you save even more. 

Lower your energy bills and make your home more comfortable by getting free or subsidized energy efficient upgrades. Efficiency Manitoba is partnering with the Manitoba Métis Federation to help raise awareness of these offers and help lower energy bills for income qualifying Manitobans.

Do you Qualify?

1. You're a Red River Métis Citizen.

2. You're a homeowner or tenant in a single or semi-detached home.

3. You live in the home year-round.

You:

• have been approved or participated in the Manitoba Métis Federation's Home Enhancement Loan Program (HELP); or
• have been approved or participated in the Manitoba Métis Federation's First Time Home Purchase Program (FTHPP); or
• have a total household income before deductions that meets or falls within the income thresholds listed below.

Efficiency Manitoba

Efficiency Manitoba is a Crown corporation devoted to energy conservation. Their goal is to make saving energy and reducing energy bills easy and affordable.

Efficiency Manitoba filed their plan with the Public Utilities Board and our department continues to review the plan to determine the best fit for the Red River Métis.

Efficiency Manitoba and EIRM are working with the Louis Riel Capital Corporation and MMF Housing to refer Métis small businesses to available programming. The MMF Housing Department, in coordination with EIRM, has also hired an Energy Advocate to direct our Citizens to programming that is available to increase the energy efficiency of their homes.
