Citizens of the Red River Métis Nation,

As Minister, I'm reaching out to you today because we're at a pivotal moment in our journey as a Nation. We're undertaking a vital review of our MMF Constitution Local By-Law to ensure it reflects our needs and empower us for generations to come. This is about building a stronger, more responsive government that truly serves our Citizens.

These changes are more than just updates on paper; they're about strengthening the very foundation of our self-governance. They're about ensuring our Locals have the tools they need to flourish in this exciting new era for the Red River Métis. And, most importantly, they're about ensuring your voice is heard.

Our inherent right to self-determination, a right fought for by our ancestors and carried in our blood, demands that we, the Citizens, are at the heart of this process. It is our duty to each other, and to those who came before us, to participate in shaping our future. This isn't just about meeting external requirements; it's about building the kind of government we want, a government that truly reflects our values and aspirations.

That's why I'm personally inviting you to join us in this important work. We want to hear directly from you, our Citizens across the Homeland and beyond, about what matters most to you. Your insights and perspectives are invaluable as we revise our Local By-Law.

To make it easy for you to share your thoughts, we've partnered with Probe Research Inc. to conduct a confidential survey. You can participate by visiting Local By-Law Survey. You'll need your V number (found on your Citizenship card) to complete the survey. If you haven't had a chance to participate yet, you may receive a call or email from Probe Research to ensure your voice is included.

In addition to the survey, I encourage you to join us for our upcoming virtual town hall meetings. These gatherings will be a chance to connect with leadership, learn more about the proposed changes, and share your ideas directly. Keep an eye on the MMF website and social media channels for dates and details to come.

We've also created a helpful workbook Consultations Workbook to provide more context and information about the By-Law review process. I hope you'll take some time to review it.

My fellow Citizens, this is our government. Let's work together to build a future filled with promise and opportunity for all Red River Métis Citizens. Your participation is essential. I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Judy Mayer
Minister of Constitution, Rights and Governance, and
Minister of Red River Métis Beyond Borders
